My Current Obsession: Rentrer en Soi

I'm feeling super passionate about one particular thing right now, so of course, I had to blog about it. That thing is...

Rentrer en Soi!

Like, they just make me feel things.

First of all, the instrumentals in their songs are spectacular. The instruments give off a metallic, echo-y sound (I can't describe it well so it doesn't sound very appealing...) that makes it sound like they are playing in the loneliest place on earth, and I really like that! It's kind of hard to explain...

Buuuut, more than the pretty instrumentals, the thing that attracts me most to this band are the vocals. Whenever Sasaki sings, with the exception of maybe one or two songs, there is always something like painful longing in his voice. And if there is one thing I like, it is angsty beautiful men.

I've been a fan of Rentrer en Soi for a few years now, ever since my friend bought one of their singles on whim (neither of us had known who they were) and let me borrow the CD. Unfortunately, I am rarely in a position to spend money on leisure items, so STILL the only CD of theirs I have on my iPod is the CD my friend loaned me. I haven't really listened to Satsuki's solo work, but hopefully he's as good as he was with Rentrer en Soi~

So, the Lolita 52 Challenge has been a thing for a while, as I'm sure you know. But I'm just now getting around to doing it. 52.  How Lolita has changed me
And for today's question:

 My "signature" outfit

My "signature" outfit involves my red x pink Fruits Parlor OP. It's not really so much a singular outfit as several variations on the same one. I might change my headbow, socks, or shoes, or remove the detachable apron, but the coordination generally stays the same. The coordinate has gone through a few incarnations:

Feb. 2012, first time wearing Fruits Parlor
Apr. 2012, OTT sweet with Fruits Parlor
Aug. 2012, slight variation on Apr. 2012 version
I think that the reason this is my "signature" outfit is because I love OTT Sweet, and Fruits Parlor is one of the best prints for that style. When I wear any variation of this coordinate, I can honestly say I feel more like a princess than I do in any of my other dresses!

Hello, dollies!

Hey! I'm Essie, the owner and maintainer of this blog. I'm a Lolita and a Cult Party Girl, and I just love J-fashion in general! The majority of these posts will probably be about such things, but mostly Lolita as I am most heavily invested in that particular fashion. And sometimes, just random stuff that I want to tell the whole world about!

That's about it for now, but please enjoy what's to come!
